These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Free .AB Converter at abconverter.live, including the AB conversion tools, archive viewer, extraction features, guides, and related services. By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

These terms should be reviewed for the law and jurisdiction applicable to the final operator before production launch. They are written to describe the intended service behavior and should not include invented company details.

1. Purpose of the Service

Free .AB Converter provides technical tools and educational content for supported Android ADB backup .ab files and compatible TAR archives. Features may include AB to TAR conversion, TAR to AB packaging, archive inspection, selective extraction, file validation, and technical guidance.

The service does not provide a guarantee that every AB file can be converted, decrypted, repaired, recovered, or restored to an Android device.

2. Authorized Use Only

You may use the service only with files and data that you own, control, or are legally authorized to process.

You must not use Free .AB Converter to access, extract, inspect, decrypt, or recover another person's backup without permission or other lawful authority.

You are responsible for confirming that your use complies with applicable privacy, computer misuse, intellectual property, employment, contractual, and data protection laws.

3. File Ownership

You retain ownership of files and data you lawfully provide to the service. Using the conversion tools does not transfer ownership of your backup contents to Free .AB Converter.

You grant only the limited technical permission necessary for the service to process the file for the operation you requested. Where processing is local in the browser, the file may not be transferred to the server at all.

You represent that you have the rights necessary to provide any file that is uploaded for server processing.

4. Acceptable Use

You may use the service for legitimate backup recovery, file conversion, software development, testing, research, security review, archival work, and other lawful purposes.

You must not use the service to violate another person's privacy, steal credentials or data, distribute malware, evade lawful access controls, interfere with the service, attack infrastructure, or process content that you are prohibited from possessing or accessing.

Automated use that harms service availability, bypasses rate limits, or consumes unreasonable resources may be restricted.

5. No Malware Distribution

Do not use Free .AB Converter to host, distribute, or deliver malware. Android backups can contain APKs, scripts, binaries, or other executable content. The service treats such entries as data and does not authorize their malicious use.

You are responsible for scanning and safely handling files you extract or download.

Free .AB Converter may block operations or files that create a credible security risk to users or infrastructure.

6. Backup Responsibility

Always preserve the original AB file before conversion, extraction, modification, or repacking. Keep independent backups of important data.

Do not make Free .AB Converter's output the only copy of critical information until you have independently verified it.

The service is not a substitute for a complete device backup strategy or professional forensic preservation process.

7. Conversion Limitations

An Android AB file can be invalid, corrupted, truncated, password protected, unsupported, or unrelated to Android despite its extension. Applications may also have excluded their data from the original backup.

A successful AB to TAR conversion indicates that the supported container was processed and a TAR output passed the implemented checks. It does not prove the backup contains every expected file.

A successful TAR to AB operation does not guarantee Android restore compatibility.

8. Android Version Limitations

ADB backup and restore are legacy, deprecated Android workflows. Android 12 introduced restrictions affecting private app data for applications targeting API level 31 or higher.

Modern Android devices may not create, accept, or restore AB files in the same way as older devices. Application backup rules, package signatures, device manufacturer behavior, and software versions may affect results.

You are responsible for evaluating compatibility before attempting restoration.

9. Encrypted Backups

You are responsible for providing the correct password for an encrypted AB file. The service does not guarantee password recovery and should not be used to attempt unauthorized password cracking.

If you forget a password, Free .AB Converter may be unable to recover the protected payload.

After decryption, TAR and extracted output may be plaintext and should be stored securely.

10. No Warranty of Recoverability

Some files cannot be recovered. Missing bytes, destroyed encryption metadata, unavailable passwords, corrupted compressed streams, or data excluded at backup creation time can make recovery impossible.

Free .AB Converter does not warrant that any particular file, app database, message, account state, or document can be recovered.

Partial recovery results should be treated as partial unless fully validated.

11. Restore Risk

Restoring an AB file to a device can alter or overwrite application data. Modified or incorrectly repacked archives may fail in unexpected ways.

Do not test a modified backup on a device containing the only copy of important data. Use controlled environments, emulators, or properly backed up test devices where appropriate.

You accept responsibility for restore decisions and device effects.

12. Service Availability

The website may be unavailable temporarily for maintenance, security events, infrastructure failures, updates, or other reasons. Features, file size limits, supported versions, and processing methods may change.

Free .AB Converter does not guarantee uninterrupted or error free availability.

Do not rely on the service as the sole method for accessing time critical data.

13. File Size and Resource Limits

The service may enforce limits on uploaded size, expanded size, entry count, processing time, PBKDF2 work factors, temporary storage, or download size to protect reliability and security.

Files exceeding these limits may be rejected even if they are otherwise valid.

Attempting to bypass limits or deliberately cause resource exhaustion is prohibited.

14. Temporary File Processing

Where server processing is required, files may be stored temporarily for the requested operation. The intended retention and deletion behavior is described in the Privacy Policy.

Do not assume server processing is appropriate for legally privileged, regulated, highly confidential, or forensic data. Use an offline workflow when your obligations require stricter custody controls.

15. Third Party Software and References

The website may mention Android platform tools, Android Backup Extractor, archive utilities, open source projects, operating system tools, or other third party software.

Those products are governed by their own terms, licenses, security practices, and support policies. A reference does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation.

Verify software sources before installing or running them.

16. Intellectual Property

The original website text, interface, branding, and original software created for Free .AB Converter are protected by applicable intellectual property laws, subject to any open source licenses used in the project.

Android, Google, third party product names, and software project names belong to their respective owners.

You may not copy the website's original branding or content in violation of applicable rights.

17. User Feedback and Reports

If you send feedback, bug reports, or technical suggestions, you permit Free .AB Converter to use that feedback to improve the service without an obligation to compensate you, unless a separate agreement says otherwise.

Do not include confidential backup contents or passwords in feedback unless a secure process has been agreed.

18. Security Testing

Good faith security reporting is welcome through support@abconverter.live. Do not access other users' data, degrade service availability, plant malware, or exceed the minimum testing needed to demonstrate an issue.

Automated attacks, unauthorized data access, and destructive testing are prohibited.

19. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Free .AB Converter is provided on an “as available” basis without warranties that every file will convert, every result will be complete, or every output will work with a particular Android device or application.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot legally be excluded.

20. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Free .AB Converter and its operator should not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar losses arising from use of the service, including loss of data, failed restoration, device state changes, business interruption, or reliance on incomplete recovered data.

Any final liability clause should be reviewed for the jurisdiction governing the production service because enforceability varies.

21. Indemnity

Where permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for claims arising from your unlawful use of the service, violation of these terms, or processing of files you were not authorized to access.

This clause should be reviewed by qualified counsel before launch for the final operating jurisdiction.

22. Suspension or Termination

Access may be limited or blocked when reasonably necessary to protect users, infrastructure, legal compliance, or service availability, including in response to abuse, attacks, prohibited content handling, or repeated attempts to bypass resource limits.

23. Changes to These Terms

The terms may change as features, laws, processing architecture, or service providers change. The effective date should be updated when revisions are published.

Continued use after a material update may constitute acceptance where permitted by law. If specific consent is legally required, the service should obtain it.
